I installed Spb Software House Mobile Shell 2.0 this past weekend. The two major changes the applications are the program's size and the ability to use gestures to access the Now, Program, and Favorite Contacts screens. It took me a little while to get the gestures right and it works pretty well given the lack of real sensitivity on the Kaiser touch screen. I am not sure that using these extra screens simplifies one handed operation, but it does help with using touch and gestures. The one set of new features I find very useful on the Now screen are:
- Direct access to the clock plug in by tapping the time.
- Direct access to the weather plug in by tapping the weather icon.
Unfortunately, they have not added functionality to trigger 3rd party PIM like Pocket Informant (other than MS and their own) from a displayed appointment or the calendar. All in all though this is a worthy upgrade.
