I am on the road to south of Washington on I-95 to Richmond as a passenger. I am blogging and working on email using my Verizon AirCard 595 which works well. It is not WiFi, but provides acceptable speed. We hit a backup on I-95 and now it is time for technology to provide us with the why?
I find maps.google.com to be provide a more intuitive method of trip planning than maps.live.com. If you want to avoid an area, you can drag your route away from it. No such feature in maps.live.com. I
I was surprised to find that the low bandwidth map rendering (using Verizon EVDO) is pretty jerky on maps.google.maps (some quadrants don't even paint) while maps.live.com is smooth. Then the traffic information on maps.google.com was very basic compared to the information provided on maps.live.com. Maps.live.com had the accident that created the backup we where in, the severity and estimated ending time, no such notice on maps.google.com.
