rsramirez on xda-developers pointed me to a very interesting application on source forge. iTunes Agent found here is a much more sophisticated version of the Mass Storage Synchronizer application I discussed here. It integrates very well with iTunes and solves the memory card search problem. It is not that intuitive to set up, so I created a set slides you can find here.
I really like that:
- The "Generic Device" playlist only shows up when it finds my SD card, so that it does not get copied to my iPod.
- I can name my own directory on my SD card.
- It copies the music files by artist and album following my iTunes structure
I wish it would:
- Allow for the selection of playlists in iTunes rather than use a generic one.
This is a great piece of software, thank you Jaran Nilsen for writing it.
