As I mentioned in the comments from my post yesterday, I had no problems with downloading and installing iTunes 7. One feature I really like is the built in firmware upgrade for the iPod. I can't tell you how many times I have had to explain how to upgrade the firmware, now that iTunes checks the firmware version, the process is easy to use.
The iTunes iPod firmware validation and update message box.
My wife and I have our own iPods and we sync from a single library on the same Windows XP desktop machine (see my previous post). We each have our own login and iTunes keeps track of our individual playlists. Since we also use this machine as a file server from our laptops it is always on and under iTunes 6.x we always had to manually terminate iPodService.exe when each of us wanted synch our iPod. This problem seems to have been resolved in iTunes 7 which makes very happy since my wife no longer needs to go into the Task Manager to kill the iPodService.exe.
As with any upgrade there are some folks that have problems, a good place to find information is the iLounge forum found here.
